Evening Affirmation – We can reject the idle tales of trouble material sense has told.

“In the end so much of it turns out not to matter.” If that line alone looking back on the film as you’ve seen it to its conclusion doesn’t shake you I don’t know what to say! I agree this film is one of those treasures. G. Pino (comment section).

Evening Affirmation

From the September 1950 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This is God’s day. The evening as the morning
by Him alone is ruled.
God knows no vain regret, no backward turning
to purpose unfulfilled.

We need not question if some hard decision,
some choice, was rightly made.
God, Mind, man’s only Mind, with sure precision
has been our constant guide.

We can reject the idle tales of trouble
material sense has told
of word or deed unwise, of body feeble.
Man has not erred nor ailed.
